SUMMARY OF TASKS: Saputo Dairy Products Canada is seeking General Plant Help (part time) to work in the Cheese Department in Saskatoon. General Plant Help is an entry level laborer who may be called on to work in various roles within operations. GPH employees typically work on an on-call basis to fill-in for vacancies and other absences while gaining hours towards seniority. Under the responsibility of the production manager, the individual will be responsible for all assigned activities in the identified departments. RESPONSIBILITIES: • Food receiving, production sanitation and/or cold storage warehouse duties • Ensure strict adherence to food safety policies (HACCP, CFIA, GMP, BRC) • Strict compliance to Workplace, Health & Safety policies (WHMIS, OH&S, Company SOP's) • A high degree of accuracy and attention to detail • Ability to learn a wide variety of skills and tasks • Moderate to Heavy lifting - up to 50 pounds • Available for shift work • Other duties as assigned QUALIFICATIONS: • High School Diploma • Must be able to assume full responsibility of operating equipment relative to identified departments • Must perform duties as assigned, complete all documentation, report and monitor any deviations • Previous experience in a similar and/or relevant field is preferred • Physical capacity to perform medium to heavy lifting (up to approx. 50 lbs) • Ability to work in an environment with a known allergen - milk; • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment. • Work well in a team environment; high level of motivation and initiative
